What Is Tailor Brands And How Does It Work?

Although Tailor Brands was initially launched as an online logo maker tool that uses AI to automatically generate logos for new businesses, the platform has dramatically expanded its capabilities over the years. Not only is it one of the top logo makers, but it’s now an “all-in-one platform that helps millions of people around the world turn their ideas into businesses.”

Tailor Brands claims to have helped over 30 million users create over 50 million designs, with a new logo being created every second. You can still use Tailor Brands to automatically generate and customize your logo using AI tools for non-designers. However, you can now also use it to create and launch a website as well as design digital branding assets, prints, business cards, social posts, and even physical merchandise.

So, this isn’t only a review of Tailor Brands logos, but all its business tools. Simply put, Tailor Brands today is a one-stop shop for creating all your new businesses’ branding assets and managing them in a single place online, without needing to download and install any software.

Main Features

While we’ll discuss the individual features in-depth below, the most impressive thing about Tailor Brands for us is how it brought it all together in a single, unified dashboard, making creating and applying a visual brand identity across all your assets simpler than ever!

Basically, Tailor Brands takes your logo design and breaks it down into visual elements (color, typography, style) to come up with a brand theme shared by all your assets and ensure everything feels coherent.

So, with that in mind, let’s review Tailor Brands feature by feature.

Customizable Branding

Particularly for small businesses, your brand is everything. Without unique and memorable branding, it will be nearly impossible to stand out from your competitors. That’s especially true online where you’re competing with thousands—if not hundreds of thousands—of businesses.

The first thing you’ll do when signing up for Tailor Brands is design your own logo with the help of tons of of icons, stylish fonts, and shapes Tailor Brands lets you choose from. The wizard will guide you through a handful of steps to hone in on your preferences and automatically generate your logo.

There’s a similar wizard for automatically creating a website, or you can do so manually by first choosing a website template that suits you. Either way, we were equally impressed by the web designer and logo designer in our review of Tailor Brands logos.

Tailor Brands also provides beginner-friendly graphic design tools for all assets so you can further customize digital or physical business cards, merchandise, branding decks, or anything else while also flexing your own logo-making skills if you prefer. That being said, other graphic design tools like Canva and Visme offer more advanced customization with more freedom. You can check the full reviews of Canva and Visme here.

Design Management

One of Tailor Brands’ key selling points is that it offers a one-stop platform for all your business branding assets, with a simple dashboard where you can see and manage all your assets, including your website, logo, digital business cards, and other graphic designs.

As nearly all reviews on Tailor Brands will attest, it’s incredibly simple to use the system—your color and style choices will automatically sync between different assets to keep everything on-brand. You can even use a short wizard to create your own brand theme, which will be applied to your future creations across social, marketing, and print assets.

Although there’s a lot to keep track of when creating all your brand’s assets, Tailor Brands did a good job of making sure the experience is neat, organized, and easy to learn so beginners don’t feel overwhelmed by the management system.

Image Editing

When listing Tailor Brands pros and cons, image editing falls under the latter category.

Unfortunately, Tailor Brands doesn’t offer any image editing as such. Although you do get access to a massive library of stock images and can upload your own, you’ll mostly have to use them as is.

There’s a very basic editor for customizing your printable assets like posters and banners, but it isn’t as nearly as powerful or sophisticated as Adobe Illustrator, for example.

Print Management

Speaking of printing assets, Tailor Brands provides a single, unified interface for measuring all your printable assets, including your business cards, stickers, apparel, and prints created using the graphic design tools.

Any physical prints or merchandise, however, are outsourced to Zazzle. As we point out in our Tailor Brands review regarding price, you might need to pay an extra commission to Zazzle for this service. However, you can create some of your designs in Tailor Brands and then order them from Zazzle, while others need to be designed on the Zazzle website.

Secure Data Storage

For your brand’s data and IP protection, Tailor Brands offers an SSL certificate-secured platform, as well as a relatively trustworthy and up-to-date privacy policy. Furthermore, you can enable a free SSL certificate on the website you create and launch with Tailor Brands to protect your business and visitors.

Social Media Integration

For a relatively simple platform, Tailor Brands’ advanced social media integration impressed us throughout our social Tailor Brands review. First of all, it allows you to add social sharing links with icons to your pages for social platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, and Linkedin.

Tailor Brands will also automatically generate your logo in different sizes suitable for various social media platforms to help you look more recognizable and professional on social platforms.

What’s more, with a Premium plan, you can even schedule social posts ahead of time to automate your social marketing, and the analytics tool will give you insights into your social traffic patterns, engagement metrics, and the performance of different posting strategies.

Last, but not least, you can even connect your online store to Facebook or Instagram for a seamless multi-channel shopping experience. Any social sales will sync and integrate with your Tailor Brands’ hosted store, which will make inventory management and accounting much easier.

It’s no surprise that most Tailor Brands reviews agree that social media integration is one of the platform’s strongest features.

Watermarking

Watermarks are great for protecting your branded assets from unauthorized reuse or IP theft. The good news is that using the graphic design tool, you can watermark pretty much any Tailor Brands asset using your brand logo, including any images you upload to Tailor Brands, as well as stock images.

11. As you can see, Tailor Brands will automatically generate a number of different logo templates based on your previous choices that you can switch between in the lefthand menu. At this point, you’ll also have the option to either customize your logo further or choose “Love it!” and move on to creating your website.

12. If you choose to customize your logo further, you’ll be taken to the designer below:

As you can see, you can change the style, font, text, color, and layout, and even add shapes or change the icon. Overall, our Tailor Brands logo review was a really positive experience, as it’s so easy to use even for laymen without any professional design experience. However, Tailor Brands still gives you just enough freedom to express yourself. Every time you make a change, you can see what it will look like on the preview.

That will take you through to your account dashboard, where you can manage every aspect of your brand’s digital presence on the Tailor Brands platform.

Tailor brands logo maker

This is where our idea of what is Tailor Brands really changed—as you can see from the tools, it’s much more than just an online logo maker.

For example, if you go to “Websites” in the lefthand menu, you can start to create your business site either by using the AI builder, similar to the logo generator, or by creating one from scratch by choosing a template:

Tailor brands automatic builder

If you choose the automatic builder, Tailor Brands will generate a basic design for you. Once again, in terms of Tailor Brands pros and cons, this type of streamlining is a major plus point.

At the first step, you can choose which sections you want to add to your home page, and the builder will add them accordingly:

Next, you can choose a general style for your website, and Tailor Brands will let you preview what it may look like:

Tailor brands "create site"

When you click “Create site,” Tailor Brands will take a couple of moments to generate the website based on your input:

Tailor brands website customizer

That will take you through to the website customizer, where you can make custom styling changes to the website design. Some default content and images will be added for you. Just like we found in our Tailor Brands logo review, it’s relatively straightforward and intuitive for beginners, but still gives you a decent amount of creative freedom:

You can also preview what it will look like on mobile:

When you’re done, you can click the “Publish” button and your website will go live. However, you’ll need to subscribe to a plan first to host your website:

You can now review and choose any of the pricing plans. As soon as you make your purchase, you can publish your website and use all the features the plan offers:

In our opinion, Tailor Brands have created a really smooth and fun onboarding process that’s not overwhelming for beginners. All you need to do is follow the guided steps, which is why there are very few reviews on Tailor Brands that have anything bad to say about the usability.

While the process may look long from this walkthrough, it’s actually really quick and painless, especially considering you’d have effectively launched an entire brand by the time you’re done.

During our Tailor Brands review on price, one of the biggest issues we came across was the lack of any meaningful free plan. More importantly, Tailor Brands doesn’t offer any refunds, so keep that in mind before signing up.

The only thing you can do for free is use the various design tools, but you won’t be able to publish or access the original files until you subscribe to a plan. So, in effect, it’s not a free logo creator, as you can’t use it anywhere.

As you can also see, you need to carefully consider your brand and business needs before choosing a plan.

Customer Support

For now, customer support can only be reached via email, but Tailor brands offers a fantastic knowledge base with information and tutorials. Generally, Tailor Brands reviews are extremely positive, with the platform having a high 4-star rating on Trustpilot from nearly 3,000 reviews.
