Ratings and Reviews

Multiple customers on various platforms like Consumer Affairs, Trustpilot, BBB have left various reviews for American Express travel insurance. AMEX has not received excellent reviews and ratings on any of these websites. The reviews range between average to good, as far as the plans and coverage are concerned.
However, according to American Express travel insurance customer reviews, one major issue was that almost all customers had no coverage for canceling their trip due to COVID-19. When you purchase travel insurance, you expect coverage when your trip is canceled. However, not all cancelations are covered – only the ones mentioned, specifically in your policy.
Once COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, it became a known event and is therefore not covered under travel insurance policies. Even though AMEX travel insurance does not cover trip cancelation due to fears of COVID-19, you can receive coverage if you become sick from contracting COVID-19.
